My lawyer gathered the documents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thirty-day notice stands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Derek looked at me.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are we supposed to go?\u201d<\/p>\n

I paused.<\/p>\n

Then I said something he clearly didn’t expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’re my son.\u201d<\/p>\n

His eyes filled with tears.<\/p>\n
