
My 5-year-old made a family tree for school. She drew 6 people. We’re a family of 3.
“Sweetie, who are the extra people?”
She pointed.
“That’s Daddy’s other mommy. And Emma. And baby Lucas.”
I showed my husband. He laughed.
“Kids imagine things.”
I called her teacher the next morning.
She said,
“Your husband came for Career Day last month. He brought two other children. Introduced them as his. He donated $500 under your last name.”
